Inflatopia

My groups original idea was to create a sparring ring and allow people to fight inside using weapons made of plastic.

Some of our weapon ideas were: a ladder, guitar, wrench, baby seal, hammer, baby rattle. We were able to create the weapons with plastic and get them blown up. Unfortunately they would deflate very fast and when you hit someone with the weapon it lost air almost immediately.

Our next idea was to create a carnival style shooting gallery. Our drawback here was we were not allowed to use nerf guns on campus.

Our third and final idea was to create Sammy's Splash House. It was trapezoidal in shape. Inside we had four tubs filled with water and each had five to six soaker balls. The idea was to allow up to four people at a time enter the Splash House and to have a soaker ball fight. We were inflated before eleven and stayed so for a good hour. Unfortunately the breaker tripped. That left us and our neighbor group with no electricity. After collecting up extra extension cords and running them to new outlet our neighbors gained electricity for a little while but we did not due to our extra cord to our second leaf blower was taken. The breaker was tripped at this location also. Had the breaker not tripped we would have stayed inflated the whole time. Before the loss of electricity we did have students come in and play. After the loss of electricity we pulled out tubs of water out of house and allowed students to still have a soaker ball war.

Inflatopia: My Idea

My proposed idea was to design a circus tent out of white and black plastic. I thought it would be cool if everyone in group dressed as clowns or in black and white. Inside the tent a few of my ideas to do were: face painting, hoola hoops, tight rope (made of twisted plastic laid on the ground, serve peanuts and lemonade.

Practicing for Inflatopia

To get ready for Inflatopia we all picked a stuff animal to disect. Once disected we used plastic and our stuffed animal parts to make patterns. Once we had our pattern pieces we covered the seems and used a hot iron to melt the edges together. The small pieces were very hard to do.

Mr Dcukie!

Mr Duckie is sad because Bill said I had to cut him up.

Turned his back on me and refused to talk to me.

Mr Duckie quaking up. He's to cute but I have to do what I have to do.

The Duckie of Frankenstein.

Left over pieces.

Mr Duckie is now a bunny.

Laura and Mr T-Rex.

The masked disector! Who is that mysterious man?

Color Project

For the color project we had to choose a picture and recreate it three times or we could do as a partial of the picture. The 6x6 we used dots we punched from paint samples,  using only one color with various hues. The second was a 12x12 piece of masonite with ripped paper. We were to choose a diferent color and add various amount or black and or white and paint bristol paper. Once dried we ripped paper to create our picture. The last was another 12x12 using tracing paper, tissue paper or velum. For color we were allowed to use any color scheme.

Metaphor

We were given the assignmet to ceate a metaphoric piece of art in the medium of our choice. Mine did not come out as good as I would have liked. Was very fun and colorful. By now I should have learned to go with my original idea and not let anyone's opinion sway me. The overall metaphor was life BUT there were so many others hidden in the piece.

33

For the 33 project we used 3 different tools along with watered down india ink. The tools used were long twin, painbrush, and a pencil. With each tool we heard three different pieces of music. Using the tool and the ink we created a picture by feeling the music.

Once done we used view finders to find good compositions to use for recreations.

111

For the 111 project we were to design 111 different shaped rectangles using only straight lines. After making the 111 rectangles we had to narrow it down to just one and recreate the lines or pick several and incorporate them into one piece.
